In Sagaponack & Bridgehampton the beach renourishment project T&C BLOGGGED about a few months ago may not happen until the winter of 2014.

This HUGE delay is to obtain permits… REALLY??? We can’t speed track this?

I sure hope the next 2 winters are mild!

BTW.. most of the tab for this is being picked up by property owners..

National Geographic Names Cooper’s Beach as the No.2 Beach in the Entire Country

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012

They say the combination of endless coastline on one side and historic mansions on the other makes it a family vacation hot spot. The Southampton local beats out beaches in Hawaii and California. Back in 2010, Coopers Beach was actually the No.1 beach in America.

Westhampton Dunes may be the winner of an ASPBA contest for “Best Restored Beaches Across America”. This would be a second win for Westhampton Dunes, confirming what we already know…. The most pristine beaches in the world run along the eastern coast of Long Island. Through the tireless efforts of the village of Westhampton Beach, the shoreline has been replenished and restored. Located 75 miles from Manhattan, a ninety -minute drive can take you from the lights of Broadway to the beauty of the oceanfront.

It comes as no surprise that 2 of the Top 10 Beaches in the Nation are right here on Long Island, and for those of us fortunate enough to live here on the East End.. right in our back yard!

Yes, Cooper’s Beach in Southampton ranked #3 and Main Beach, East Hampton #6 in the entire United States according to Dr. Beach… coastal expert Stephen P. Leatherman, Director for Coastal Research at Florida International University.

The #1 most beautiful beach in America goes to Hanalei Bay on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

According to Dr. Beach, he rates them via factors such as water quality, sand texture, safety, facilities and maintenance of the surrounding environment.

Being an East Hampton resident, I am partial to our local beaches… even after visiting almost all the beaches on Dr, Beach’s list.. which include Siesta Beach, Sarasota, Florida; Coronado Beach, San Diego, California; Hamoa Beach, Maui, Hawaii; Cape Hatteras, Outer Banks,N.C.; Cape Florida State Park, Key Biscayne, Florida; Coast Guard Beach, Cape Cod, Mass; Beachwalker Park, Kiawah Island, S.C. I’d like to invite Dr. Beach to visit some of my personal favorites like the hidden ones in Montauk & Sag Harbor… then let’s go watch the sunset from Southold!

Westhampton Beach St. Patrick’s Parade Has Record Turn-Out

Monday, March 16th, 2009

The 42nd Annul Westhampton Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade was a huge success this year, with record turnout of young and old, Irish and not. With an "A Country Under Construction" theme, there was plenty of creativity in the floats riding down Main Street, along with the fire truck, classic cars, bands and, least we forget, the bag pipers. Post parade highlights included the kids carnival on the great lawn in Westhampton village and an aerobic stunt show on the beach.

Town and Country was in full green  mode celebrating the luck of the Irish by handing out over over 60 green and white beach balls,  hundreds of green balloons, and serving green iced tea complimented by lots of green sweets. A terrific start to what promises to be a terrific season for Town & Country Real Estate in Westhampton Beach

Here at Town & Country we are gearing up for what’s expected to be a great rental season in the Hamptons and on the North Fork!.

In preparation of our annual launch of the Town & Country eRental Guide for 2009, our agents have been diligently updating our 15,000 rental listings.

Such volume and expanse enables Town & Country to service potential Tenants from oceanfront castles in Southampton to bay side cottages in East Hampton or pristine contemporaries privately nestled in the woods… full season to monthly rentals. West Hampton Beach has some of the most dynamic light filled waterfront homes. On the North Fork, in areas such as Southold, Mattituck, and Cutchogue – just to name a few– Tenants can find sweet country homes for a significantly lower rental price than in the Hamptons. There’s something for everyone.

So if you agree with us that we should all "GO GREEN" when ever possible, click on our eRental Guide (instead of killing more trees with paper waste) or request an eMail with the link and view a sample of our Rental Listings.
