Town & Country Real Estate Annual Mid-Summer Cocktail Party

Tuesday, July 26th, 2016

Judi Desiderio, Amy and Mike Forst

There’s almost nothing better than a breezy summer night in the Hamptons sipping rose under a rose-colored sky by the waterside watching the yachts and sailboats go by.  It does however get better when you are enjoying said rose at East Hampton Point surrounded by friends and colleagues at Town & Country Real Estate’s annual mid-summer cocktail party. That was the scene on July 14th when over 100 agents, brokers, family, and friends from the Hamptons and North Fork offices gathered to enjoy the good life for a few hours.

CEO and President Judi Desiderio was thrilled to see so many agents and brokers from all seven offices at the party.  “What a great night! I love to see everyone relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.  At T&C, we’re all about our people!” said Judi.

And what do real estate pros talk about at a cocktail party?  Real estate of course.  There must be something in the water because all around the party agents and brokers were excitedly chatting about all of the deals in the works.  From sales and last-minute summer rentals to long term commercial leases the East End real estate business is looking good for Town & Country Real Estate.

"Mother Nature blessed T&C with a beautiful sunset over the harbor," said Judi.  "Great people, great setting, great party, and spectacular sunset.  What more could you ask for?"

Wednesday, May 16th, 2012

This memorial Day Weekend (May26-27 and 28) the maritime village of Greenport is hosting the Tall Ships Challenge 2012! Although many ships van be viewed from adjoining docks and waterfront areas – the village sells tickets to truly participate in the event

The TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE® Race is a series of sailing races, cruises, crew rallies and maritime festivals organized by Tall Ships America in conjunction with US and Canadian ports on the Pacific and Atlantic Coasts of North America and in the Great Lakes.

Traditionally-rigged sailing vessels from Canada, the US and other countries are crewed by youth (either civilians or cadets) ages 13 – 25 who are engaged in sail training programs under the supervision of captains and professional crewmembers.
Maritime festivals in each host port give visitors a chance to board the tall ships and meet the crew and trainees and learn about the many varied opportunities to sail and travel on Tall Ships America member tall ships. (Source)

Forbes names Greenport as one of America’s prettiest towns

Greenport Carroussel

A year or so ago I blogged about Greenport – and the wonderful things happening there – and I am now in great company: John Giuffo of Forbes magazine selected Greenport as one of America’s prettiest towns in his “small world big mouth” column and blog. Immediately – Lisa Dol Bruno of Newsday blogged about the real estate in Greenport - because such positive news make people interested in being a part of a wonderful success story. And I personally love this confirmation of what I already have been writing about for a long time how wonderful Greenport is - confirmation by independent and important sources in the press. As always it takes time for people to realize that things have changed . But the time in Greenport for the nay-sayers is over – or so it seems now! So be among the first to realize it:

It also happens that Town and Country agents recently have taken listing for some of Greenport’s most important Real Estate – one of which the Historic Postmaster’s home on First Street… but Greenport also has the most wonderful Waterfront Condominiums – a rare commodity in North Fork Wine Country; alongside some of the greatest hotel/motel resorts and  B&Bs in walking distance from Front Street restaurants and shops! A true Mecca for second homers from suburban areas, a great place to retire to, or a wonderful place to raise a family.

So it’s time to re-visit Greenport – and call one of our agents at Town and Country if you would like to be introduced to life in Greenport and North Fork Wine Country & luring Shelter Island!

NORTH FORK TABLE OPENS: THE LUNCH TRUCK

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

The North Fork Table is a venerable institution we all got to cherish: In just a few years Mike and Mary Mraz, Claudia Fleming, and Gerry Hayden incorporated the best of North Fork (Sea) food, produce and wine into the place I cannot picture the North Fork without anymore. Our Southold office could not imagine better neighbors! Just ask any of our agents.

Almost everything the North Fork Table does warrants a blog. But the Lunch Truck - the newest idea of these culinary creators- taps right into the essence of the North Fork – for lunch! – and all you who enjoy lunch should know about it! The concept is simple and very North Fork – the food – take out only- is remarkable and reasonable. Their Steak (Filet) sandwich is out of this world, their North Fork pulled Pork sandwich delicious. Service is quick and friendly – a step above.

So come visit our Town and Country offices in Southold to talk about Real Estate -buying or selling- around Lunch Time – and bring your appetite!

GREENPORT: NORTH FORK BOOM-TOWN

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Remember you learned about this great secret at Town & Country’s blog first: a leg up on all the people searching for fabulous real estate opportunities: one for the record books:

(And don’t forget about us when you become rich and famous…..) this is a bit of a long blog: the secret is at the end of the blog!  Shhhh don’t tell anyone…….

The charming and historic maritime village of Greenport, judged by the number and caliber of new business openings lately, this Town is booming. Without any exaggeration. Much of the news centers around the theme of what everybody loves on the North Fork: Fish(ing), Food (Agritourism) and Wine, and the places to go and stay to take it all in. Greenport is in the center of all that is happening in the North Fork, New York’s Wine Country.

Take for example the Greenport Harbor Brewing company opened this summer…just behind Front Street, next to what looks like a Wild West Jail building where Greenport’s mischievous would have been housed temporarily in the past, the hustle-bustle tourist part of the Town.

A bit further down Main Street, just past Frank Purita’s  D’Latte (where you will enjoy the best Italian Gelato West of Rome) Nello Balan, culinary celebrity in Manhattan and South Hampton, is re-opening the former "Isle de Beaute" restaurant as "Seaweed".  Construction is underway there, and ground was broken for the large scale renovation at the site just accross the street where Nello will open a Hotel

One of my favorite restaurateur’s on the North Fork, Dennis McDermott (FOH) and Hank Tomashevski (who scored a 7 year hit with the Frisky Oyster Restaurant ) opened Frisky Oyster Bar on Front Street…. with dining "al fresco" finally on Front Street overlooking the Carroussel and Souhold Bay/Greenport Harbor.

Mayor Kapell oversaw years of redevelopment of the Greenport Waterfront resulting in a quite attractive and family friendly down town in this spectacular yet cozy Maritime Town.

Family style "This little Italian Place" opened this week on Front Street with Southold’s favourite Italian Son, Joe Pagano returning to cooking family style Italian food and again, finally al fresco dining! And all these great places from simple to expensive are all walking distance in a 3 or 4 block area of Greenport’s waterfront Down-town. And don’t forget the welcome additions from previous years: (without getting into the Starbucks love-it or hate-it discussion) : The Loft (& Harborfront Deli), Barbeque Bill’s,and if you didn’t bring something appropriate to wear -whatever that means on the North Fork- ladies: visit Mint Boutique!!!

So now the catch-all secret: Greenport Real Estate, with the most charming fixer uppers on quiet, tree-lined avenues looking for tender love and restoring care, galant Victorians entirely restored, or glorious waterfronts, Greenport real estate has never been more affordable, is basically "ON SALE".

Check out also the special incentives for First Time Home Buyers, which bring these fixer uppers entirely within financial reach – you may be very pleasantly surprised! Call Town and Country’s family of local Real Estate professionals for more information, or email me at jbischoff@1townandcountry.com.

Buy a home now in Greenport. You’ll be glad you did. Before anyone else finds out what’s been happening!
